1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using BudgetWise (“the App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”). These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and the developers of BudgetWise. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please do not download or use the App.

2. Description of the App

BudgetWise is a personal finance tracking iOS application designed to help you manage spending, understand patterns, and review useful summaries from the data you enter. The App allows you to:

• Log income and expenses across default and custom categories
• Track recurring expenses and fixed payment schedules
• View spending summaries, insights, and week-over-week trends
• Export your transaction data to CSV or Excel format
• Interact with a personalised financial companion character
• Set budgets and receive spending alerts and practical reminders

3. Licence

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to download and use the App on your personal Apple device(s) for your personal, non-commercial purposes.

You may not: (a) copy, modify, or distribute the App; (b) reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App; (c) use the App for any commercial purpose; (d) remove any proprietary notices from the App.

4. Not Financial Advice

BudgetWise is a personal tracking tool only. Nothing in the App constitutes financial, investment, tax, accounting, or legal advice. Insights, trend notifications, spending summaries, and companion messages are informational summaries of data you have entered. They should not be relied upon as the basis for any financial decision. Please consult a qualified financial adviser for personalised advice.

5. User Responsibilities

• You are solely responsible for the accuracy and completeness of data you enter into the App.
• You are responsible for maintaining regular backups of your device (e.g., via iCloud or iTunes), as we cannot recover data lost due to device failure, accidental deletion, or App malfunction.
• You must not use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
• You must not attempt to compromise the integrity or security of the App.

6. Data Ownership

You own the data you enter into BudgetWise. We claim no intellectual property rights over your transactions or app data. Core budgeting data is designed to stay on your device, while limited operational information may be handled by supporting services for app functionality, diagnostics, reliability, support, communications, and related operations.

7. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, user interface, features, and all associated graphics (including the BudgetWise logo and companion characters), are owned by the developers of BudgetWise and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works based on the App or its assets.

8. App Updates

We may release updates to BudgetWise through the Apple App Store from time to time. Updates may add features, fix bugs, modify the user interface, or introduce new insight and alert capabilities. We recommend keeping the App updated to receive the latest improvements and security fixes. Our privacy practices may evolve as features change, and the current Privacy Policy will govern how information is handled.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or your use of the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts located in Chandigarh, India.

10. Apple App Store Terms

Your use of BudgetWise is also subject to the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions available at apple.com. Apple Inc. is not a party to these Terms and is not responsible for the App or its content.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. If changes are material, we will notify you via an in-app notice. Continued use of the App after the effective date of changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
